That pesky Mother Nature left a batch of maple trees there getting tall
The big construction vehicles were ready to begin
And Derek McNamara, sipping tonic and gin
Called for all the drivers to push their pedals in

But McNamara suddenly saw something he did not expect at all
A winged little creature begging not to have the maples die to falls
His startled reaction spilled his tonic and gin
He blinked and wondered whether she was talking to him
But he found that he made a frantic signal given

He took the fairy aside—she said, “McNamara,
That’s my home you nearly made debris
If you would move the mall to leave it standing
I’ll give you three wishes from me,
And if you give your wife a break tonight
I can throw in a fourth one free!”

To his mansion where his trophy wife was tending to the stove

A long day had just passed for McNamara—he was tending to forget
By the time that he collapsed upon the sofa, his encounter he’d neglect
“Honey, I’m so tired, can I get that meal to go?”
“Dear, it won’t be ready for another hour or so!”
His daughter hurried in to see his brow form a furrow

“Daddy, with your face scrunched up, you’re looking like a naked mole rat!”
He scowled to hear the nanny’s Southie accent in his daughter’s little chat
“Ladies, I have pails of sweat pouring off my brow!
I wish you’d shake the laziness and bring my dinner now!”
Suddenly the table rolled a cloth and set itself with golden plates and silverware and napkins laid and glasses filled with wine and one with sparkling apple juice for their young daughter there and little dishes of the edamame on the side and serving bowls of rice and in the middle there appeared a silver tray of bao…

The family stood looking stunned—finally McNamara
Realized and talked about the day
His wife cried out -2, “You could have given me anything
Instead of getting serviced right away!
I wish that bao was stuck into your ass forever!”
Then the bao ascended from the tray…

As he had to speak the third wish just to get the buggers off
