Don’t let the glow or the purple eyes fool you We’re not two aliens from Planet Zankulu That’s someone else’s saucer parked out back We’re as American as drone attacks! [pew pew pew] We’re at the brunch club knitting mimosas Cosmopolitans but not bi-coastal That triple bacon burger’s lit aye eff And I love that History Channel show about trailer trash [We like drugs!] Walitin! [We like Cars!] You Might Think! [We like bars!] Milky Way! [12 packs of Bud Light and 12 inch heels] [Big salute to all our Navy Seals!] [We like drugs!] Walitin! [We like Cars!] You Might Think! [We like bars!] Milky Way! [We love sex and baked potatoes!] [Top 40 EDM on the rad-i-o!] Sure, we might often monologue to ourselves Those long antennae might make us look like elves But we’re normal, just ask our personal trainer And we write these great rhymes just like Meghan Trainor News of the world: we’re just cool guys Every prophet agrees, and if you say otherwise Then you’re a Liar, like that deep cut by Queen Is this what pop culture reference means? C2: Same, but with [Mocha no-foam lattes with extra tobacco] [Monopoly, Game of Life, and tic-tac-toe!] ~Baked Potato C3: Same, but with [I know what I measure my weekends by:] [Vodka skye, fishing fly, and vocal fry] ~Baked Potato [Battered app platter from TGI Friday] [Taking protein powder and skipping leg day]

Fear 03:46
Gravity is just a memory Palms ooze sweat through their pores The world flips in all cardinal directions Your warm touch cannot reassure Falling in place without moving Plunging endlessly like a dream All around me teems with tranquil faces Don’t they know that they should scream? Pre-chorus When the world has lost its lid and the earth has lost its floor Swirling like a leaf in a gale-force wind, burning like a meteor Chorus Past the price of progress, past the speed of sound We fall without even the cold mercy of eventually hitting the ground Far below the heavens, far above the clouds We fall without even the cold mercy of eventually hitting the ground Search for a second of sanity A song, story, or smile Songs fail to soothe the savage feeling Reading an inch lasts a mile Then like a nightmare at daybreak I wake from the fathomless sleep Take a deep breath and calm my senses Knowing it always repeats

[V1] The site was almost ready for the newest installation of the mall That pesky Mother Nature left a batch of maple trees there getting tall The big construction vehicles were ready to begin And Derek McNamara, sipping tonic and gin Called for all the drivers to push their pedals in For the way of the world since the first man [V2] But McNamara suddenly saw something he did not expect at all A winged little creature begging not to have the maples die to falls His startled reaction spilled his tonic and gin He blinked and wondered whether she was talking to him But he found that he made a frantic signal given To stop the way of the world since the first man [PC1] He took the fairy aside—she said, “McNamara, That’s my home you nearly made debris If you would move the mall to leave it standing I’ll give you three wishes from me, And if you give your wife a break tonight I can throw in a fourth one free!” [C1] Huzzah! Huzzah! The trees were left alone Huzzah! Huzzah! McNamara ventured home To his mansion where his trophy wife was tending to the stove In the way of the world since the first man [V3] A long day had just passed for McNamara—he was tending to forget By the time that he collapsed upon the sofa, his encounter he’d neglect “Honey, I’m so tired, can I get that meal to go?” “Dear, it won’t be ready for another hour or so!” His daughter hurried in to see his brow form a furrow It’s the weight of the world since the first man [V4] “Daddy, with your face scrunched up, you’re looking like a naked mole rat!” He scowled to hear the nanny’s Southie accent in his daughter’s little chat “Ladies, I have pails of sweat pouring off my brow! I wish you’d shake the laziness and bring my dinner now!” Suddenly the table rolled a cloth and set itself with golden plates and silverware and napkins laid and glasses filled with wine and one with sparkling apple juice for their young daughter there and little dishes of the edamame on the side and serving bowls of rice and in the middle there appeared a silver tray of bao… In the way of the world since the first man [PC2] The family stood looking stunned—finally McNamara Realized and talked about the day His wife cried out -2, “You could have given me anything Instead of getting serviced right away! I wish that bao was stuck into your ass forever!” Then the bao ascended from the tray… [PIANO SOLO] [C2] Huzzah! Huzzah! The bao got in his trough Huzzah! Huzzah! McNamara had to scoff As he had to speak the third wish just to get the buggers off In the way of the world since the first man Huzzah! Huzzah! His wife got the fourth wish Huzzah! Huzzah! He fell dead on his dish With that insurance money to a hot Swede she got hitched That’s the way of the world since the first man

Hard rain soaking discarded masks Black lives matters on a boarded up small business Looks less like a sincerely held new belief More like a plea to a vengeful god Everybody issued licenses to kill Cops with their knees, kids caught in crooks’ crossfire Up on Olympus the fat man detached Opens his gums and coughs right in your face (C) Kidney stone of a year Slowly passing through our tract Twenty twenty’s not a year It’s a suicide pact The 99 percent get 99 percent cuts While CEOs Zoom chat about golf course closures Everyone’s learning a dystopian doublespeak No one’s trusted, no one’s free, nobody is safe Our band could be your death According to the critics at protests and bars Sometimes a phoenix will rise from the ashes Now it’s just ashes, and Phoenix, AZ (C) Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Dion Johnson Tony McDade, James Garcia, Michael Thomas, Kamal Flowers Natalia Wallace, Mekhi James, Lazarra Daniels, Keishanay Bolden Adam Schlessinger, John Prine, Fred the Godson, Dave Greenfield (C)

Zither Song 02:06
In the fair winds You are my sails In the high gales You are my port When I’m muddled You are my mind When I’m maligned You are my friend When we crack up You are my clown When we rock out You are my beat Til stars blink out You are my one Til Earth meets Sun You are my love

about

All recorded by the two of us at home during the 2020 quarantine period, this is definitely our most out-there project yet. We play around with many different instruments (just look at the album credits for a fun list!) and styles so no two songs are even vaguely similar. Hopefully it's a fun listen as well! All proceeds will go to Givewell, an effective altruism charity that gives money to projects proven to improve the most lives worldwide.
